Entitled Human/Nature: Reflection, our Resort 2021 collection reaffirms our powerful connection to nature and explores its transformation effect on the human world.
As a nod to the relationship between human and nature, the collection is defined by a strong sense of utility and purpose. Organic shapes, rusticity and imperfection play out across womenswear in the form of cut-out tops and dresses, ruched skirts and twist-front tailoring, and across menswear in the form of relaxed, deconstructed suiting, workwear-inspired outerwear and louche separates.
An idea of craft designed to work with and for nature imbues and permeates the collection, playing out in a balance between sea-washed finishes and vibrantly active materials like fish-net, open weave and twill.
Informed by our Founder & Creative Director’s views on natural life, sustainability, the environment and the homage we must provide it, Human/Nature is built around responsible fabric choices; from 100% recycled mesh jersey and FSC-certified satin, to organic wool and regenerated leather.
The effect is a rich, natural sensuality, a subtlety and softness which feels at one with a yearning for natural escapes in these strange times. It’s about a sense of longing and respect for human and natural environments, already a powerful motif and code of Nanushka.
