Climate change, equal opportunities & 100% sustainable products
Here are our commitments
Nanushka is committed to responsibility – it’s an integral part of what we do. In 2020, we launched our Sustainability Committee and signed up to a Sourcing Policy and Code of Conduct - and that was just the start. Here’s what we’re focusing on for the future of our planet and its people.
Make Fashion Circular
Commitment:
Become a circular fashion business.
When:
2030.
How:
We’ll implement circular business models and define and execute circular product design practices. We’ll also be eliminating waste from our supply chain by utilising deadstock and leftovers.
Benefits:
Waste reduction and beneficial impacts on the climate.
A Future for our Forests
Commitment:
Protect the world’s endangered forests and ecosystems.
When:
2022.
How:
We’ll only source paper and cellulose-based materials from certified responsiblesources and aim to work with new generation cellulosics that don’t come from wood pulp.
Benefits:
Forest protection, ecosystem restoration and the reduction of carbon emissions.
UN Fashion Charter for Climate Action
Commitment 1:
30% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
When:
2030.
Commitment 2:
Net zero emissions and achieve carbon neutrality.
When:
2050.
How:
We’re members of the UN Fashion Charter for Climate Action, a network of companies working together to achieve these objectives. We’ll start reporting and disclosing our progress to CDP, a not-for-profit charity that runs a global disclosure system so companies can manage their environmental impacts. We’re currently developing a climate action strategy to identify processes and practices that will enable us to meet our goals and targets.
Benefits:
Slowing global climate change.
Responsible materials
Commitment:
100% preferred fibers and materials by 2025, as aligned with our Sourcing Policy.
When:
2025.
How:
We’ll only source materials that have certified sustainable credentials in at least 50% of the composition.
Benefits:
Reducing the environmental impact of materials, as well as ensuring ethical supply chains.
