Our Culture

In Nanushka we truly believe that a sustainable future will only be possible if progress for both people and planet go hand-in-hand.

For us it is fundamental to ensure that workers rights, diversity & inclusion, equality and freedom are promoted and upheld along our entire value chain, and for this reason a close collaboration with all our business partners is essential.

Our mission is to create a culture of transparency, participation and accountability within the luxury fashion market.

Our Supply Chain

We are committed to ensuring that the rights of everyone who works with us - from our head office team members, to the people who make our clothes and grow materials - are respected. In 2020, we established our Code of Conduct and Supplier Manual. Predicated on the ETI Base Code and International Labour Organisation guidelines, it outlines our requirements and expectations in regards to safety in the workplace, respect for workers’ rights and environmental protection.

Our goal is to achieve full transparency and traceability of our supply chain by 2025, to ensure that our social and environmental values are upheld. Transparency is vital for progress, and we cannot foster change without fair labor and environmental stewardship.

We are in the process of building a social compliance and responsibility program, which will enable us to ensure that all of our suppliers comply with our values and policies - from wages and workers’ rights, to environmental management.

Our Supply Chain map shows the countries in which our collections were made in 2022. We produced the Spring/Summer 2022, Pre-Fall 2022, Fall/Winter 2022 and Resort 2023 collections during this period.

Approximately 63% of our manufacturers are located either 300 km from our headquarters in Hungary, or in Serbia. This allows us to build and maintain close and personal relationships with our key supply chain partners, while supporting the local economy and reducing our overall emissions.

our social initiatives

In 2022, Nanushka was recognized as brand of the Year in Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards. Judged by an independent panel of experts, the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards promote brands that are adopting industry best practices and leading the way in sustainability, accelerating transformation through collaboration, circularity and transparency.

Focused on empowering women, reducing inequalities, and enhancing health and wellbeing, we support local communities mainly through art and craft projects.

In 2022, we continued to work with Noha Studio to create employment opportunities for women in the Hungarian village of Terény, where work is scarce. The motivation of this project is two-fold: to support and empower this community, while increasing the ratio of preferred fibers and materials in our collections by phasing out plastic detailing and replacing it with organic, handcrafted finishes.

To encourage employees to give back to our communities, we launched our volunteering program to provide all of our team members with the opportunity to spend one paid working day a year helping at a range of charitable organizations while team building outside of the office space. In 2022, a total of 58 colleagues have participated in different volunteering activities: in Budapest, one day has been dedicated to supporting our community by renovating a kindergarten while two days were dedicated to the creation of a herbal garden through permaculture, whereas in London, we supported a city farm in their daily activities for a day.
